Innovation Day STEAM challenges
On the afternoon of Wednesday, February 23rd we took a half-day to be extra innovative and did some hands on activities as a whole school.
With help from a Funding for the Future Grant sponsored by Continental Resources, students at ASB Innovation Academy created space station devices, a new office building, and a tall tower. This half-day Innovation Day featured 64 mixed-grade teams of 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-grade students. Additionally, students from previous years trekked back at the end of the day to help judge presentations by the groups.
The challenges focused on developing 21st Century skills of communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, flexibility, perseverance, and leadership.
