European Cafe
For the past couple of weeks, 7th Grade students have been working on a project called "European Cafe". Students have been researching various aspects of their chosen country which align with their global studies standards: geography, civics/government, economics, reading, and writing. For those of you who have visited Europe, you know that leisure time is highly valued in European culture. Europeans take a lot of time off of work and enjoy visiting with friends and family at outdoor cafes.
On Tuesday, February 28th at 10:00 am, students entered the “cafe” (7th grade Commons), picked up a drink and muffin/croissant, and then choose a place at a table to sit. Like strangers in a cafe, students introduced themselves and shared about the country in which they are from. Each pair got 6 minutes (3 minutes each) and then they switched to meet with another "stranger".
