Art students from WMS ventured over to the James Memorial Art Center on January 25th to see the North Dakota Juried Art Show. Williston had 8 students with art featured in the show. Our own Leilani Satterfield was one of them, winning a 7/8 grade Traveling Award.
Leilani created a watercolor and marker abstract. She says the piece was an expression of her feelings at the time she created the piece. She chose that particular piece for the art show because she was “proud of it because there was so much detail put into it.” She plans to continue with art classes throughout high school and would consider submitting future art to more showcases.
This showcase includes art from students all over North Dakota in grades K-12; WMS students completed a scavenger hunt while studying the art. Our art classes are taught by Mrs. Wittmaier.
